“Every Bench Deserves a Tree” explores opposing experiences in an urban environment, with and without tree shade to offer respite from the sun for urban dwellers.  The tree is created from over 2000 leaves stencil cut from photographs taken in the Descanso oak grove. My highest hope for the installation, “Every Bench Deserves a Tree”, is that the viewer who enjoys the beauty of sitting under the paper tree will seek the amplified version of the beauty experienced by sitting under a real tree. My advice to people - Look UP!
