“Enter the Goddesses 3”

Curated by A. Laura Brody

The Gods have had their time... it is high time for the goddesses to take center stage!

Goddesses come in many guises, and we celebrate them all.

Goddesses have been with us since the beginning of recorded history. They embody love, birth, death, forgiveness, jealousy, rage, and self-knowledge; and they command our imagination and senses. In a time, full of war, pain, poverty, climate destruction, and denial of human and earthly dignity it is well past time to embrace our Goddess nature once more. Curated by A. Laura Brody, founder of Opulent Mobility.

At the Los Angeles Makery October 2-26, 2024, 260 S. Los Angeles St, LA, CA 90012

I spend time in the natural world observing light.  I paint from memories of these experiences. Often what is expressed on the paper is as much a representation of the physical world my eyes see as it is a reflection of the emotions experienced in observation of Nature’s beauty.

Shape+Form

Shape and form are two of the basic elements of art. By definition, shape is an enclosed area of space, form is a three-dimensional shape. Simple enough, until an individual becomes involved. An artist transforms these simple geometric or organic building blocks into something artistic and lyrical.

The jurors were Meher McArthur (art historian and curator) and Mollie White (Gallerist, Mollie White Gallery).
